What is Kico?
Kico is an AI app builder and AI office. You describe an app in a chat and a dev agent builds it in its own sandbox, runs it next to the chat and checks it in a real browser. A personal assistant knows your projects and colleagues, and agents you create do recurring jobs on schedules and events.
How is Kico different from Lovable, Bolt or v0?
Like them, Kico builds apps from a chat. Unlike them, it runs on the model you choose, including open-weight models on your own GPU. It also adds a personal assistant that knows all your projects, background agents with their own email addresses, connectors to your tools and read-only access to your databases, all in one place.
Can Kico use local or self-hosted models?
Yes. Kico talks to any OpenAI-compatible server such as vLLM, LM Studio, ollama or llama.cpp, on your network or at home through Tailscale without opening a port. It also works with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, xAI and other providers, with your own key or subscription.
Can I fine-tune a local model on my own work?
Yes, if your organization opts in. When a stronger model has to fix a local model's work, Kico keeps the case. A DGX Spark can train an adapter on those cases over the weekend, and Kico promotes it only if a fixed test suite scores higher.
Do Kico's agents have email addresses?
Yes. Your assistant and every agent you create get their own address at agents.kico.dev. They receive mail, check SPF, DKIM and DMARC, answer in the thread and send attachments. Work that a mail started waits for your approval before anything goes out, unless you allowed the recipient.
Which tools does Kico connect to?
Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, GitHub, Notion, Linear, Atlassian, Sentry, Stripe, Intercom, Airtable, monday.com, Canva, Vercel, PayPal, Square, Webflow, Cloudflare, HubSpot, Asana and Box, plus any remote MCP server by URL. Each person signs in with their own account.
Is my code and data safe?
Every project runs in its own isolated container. Provider keys, connector tokens and database passwords are sealed with envelope encryption and used by Kico on the server. Database connections are read-only, and outgoing mail and writes that an event started wait for your approval.
Can Kico work with my existing repository?
Yes. Import a repository from GitHub and the dev agent works out how to run it: it reads the README, manifests and CI files, installs what it needs, starts the app and checks it. Pushes go back to GitHub with the credentials of whoever is working.
How do I get access?
Kico is invite-only during the beta. Request access on kico.dev/request and we will get back to you, or ask a colleague who already uses Kico to invite you to their organization.
