Kico for Slack
Your Kico assistant and the agents you choose work in Slack as you: they find the thread you mean, catch up on a channel, post the summary and answer in the thread.
What you can do
- Ask Kico "what did the team decide about the launch?" and it searches your channels and threads.
- Have an agent post a Monday brief to a channel, or a summary of failing checks to the project's channel.
- Turn a long thread into a canvas or a list, or reply to it with what an agent found.
- Upload a file an agent made, or read a file someone shared.
How to install
- Sign in to Kico at app.kico.dev. Kico is invite-only; request access if you don't have an account.
- Open Account, Connectors and choose Slack.
- Click Connect. Slack opens its own page: pick your workspace and click Allow.
- Back in Kico, Slack shows as connected. Your assistant can use it right away. Give it to an agent in the agent's settings, or tell Kico which agent should have it.
What Kico may access
Kico asks Slack for a user token with these scopes. It sees only conversations and files you can see.
| Scopes | Used for |
|---|---|
search:read.public, search:read.private, search:read.im, search:read.mpim, search:read.files, search:read.users | Search messages, files and people you can see |
channels:history, groups:history, im:history, mpim:history | Read messages in conversations you are in |
channels:read, groups:read, im:read, mpim:read | List the conversations you are in |
chat:write | Post and reply as you |
channels:write, groups:write, im:write, mpim:write | Create conversations and manage ones you belong to |
files:read, files:write | Read files and upload files as you |
canvases:read, canvases:write, lists:read, lists:write | Read and edit canvases and lists |
reactions:read, reactions:write, emoji:read | Read and add reactions |
users:read, users:read.email | Look up people and their email addresses |
How your Slack data is handled
- The token is sealed with your own data key on Kico's server and never enters an agent's sandbox. Agents call Slack through Kico.
- Slack content an agent reads becomes part of that agent's conversation, which is sent to the AI model you chose to do the work. It is kept as long as the conversation is.
- Slack data is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train AI or machine learning models.
- Every call is in your activity log: which tool and whether it succeeded, never what was sent or returned.

Questions
How do I add Kico to Slack?
Sign in to Kico, open Account, Connectors, choose Slack and click Connect. Slack's own page asks you to approve Kico for your workspace; after that your assistant and the agents you choose can use Slack as you.
Does Kico post as me or as a bot?
As you. Kico uses a user token you grant through Slack's consent screen, so it sees only what you can see and posts in your name.
Will Kico post without asking me?
When you ask for something in the chat, Kico does it, and so does a schedule you made. When an event or an incoming mail started the work, anything it would post waits for your confirmation, unless you told Kico that this tool may always run.
Is my Slack data used to train AI models?
No. Slack data is used only to do what you ask, is not sold, is not used for advertising and is not used to train AI or machine learning models.
How do I disconnect Slack?
Open Account, Connectors in Kico and disconnect Slack. Kico revokes the token at Slack and deletes the connection. A workspace admin can also remove the app in Slack.
